7 Gifts from God - Love Part 3

The third part of love is to be of service. When you've walked down a spiritual path and have seen and felt God moving in your life, the next level of that is to ask "How can I be of service?" God will give you guidance and normally it has something to do with the vision you are creating. If you are creating something that is of service then you might be guided to take that to the next level. If you are creating a business or something to make money that doesn't include service, then this part helps to keep you on track and leaves the space open for God to continue to work through you. 

We are all here together to be happy, fulfilled, loved and to support one another. To be of service doesn't mean you are saying anyone is better or worse than you, it's saying you're willing to follow the guidance God is giving you and to be available to help people. Some very successful people are of service by creating wonderful and using things after they've created their successful business. Oprah is an excellent example of this. She is constantly being of service and holds a space of being available and answering god's call to service. She servers God in her actions and she is so loved and rewarded in return. 

So if you are under the false assumption that "being of service" means you have to be poor or give away everything you have and live from a place of constant need, Stop that! Being of service to God is the ultimate way to show the world your love for Spirit and yourself and willingness to be moved by Him. It can be so fulfilling and Oprah doesn't look poor to me. The amount of joy and love you'll feel when start to be of service to people will amaze you. Whether it's volunteering at a food bank, helping a non-profit organization you believe in, or something more simple like helping an elderly person carry groceries to their car, or paying for something someone needs and doesn't have quite enough for. 

So start to ask in your daily spiritual practice how you can be of service today, God? You may get an answer, you may not. Or you might be moved later in the day to do something to help someone. Just think of the joy and shock of that person you help and imagine the appreciation you'll feel from them. The smile you experience as a result will be the smile of God living through you. Living from that space is amazing. So when you're lead so let someone over in traffic or cut in front of you at the grocery line, you have a choice: will you be of service today or not? Only you can answer, and there are no consequences to choosing no other than losing out on the joy and love you could have received.
