Sometimes you know your triggers and other times you learn them as you go. But anything that creates a reaction in you is a trigger. Sometimes it's a person pushing your buttons; they will probably stop when you stop reacting to it. At the same time, you know when you are pushing buttons to create a reaction and you can choose to stop that pattern of behavior and no longer treat people that way. Refer back to my past posts for more info on triggers and how to manage them.
If you tend to feel that people are looking at you or talking about you, that is a pattern of thought you need to heal. That kind of thought pattern makes you paranoid and serves no purpose. But the beauty of it is you can choose to stop the thought and your reaction to it. That kind of thought can make you dislike or resent people for no real reason, ruining relationships. When you become conscious of this type of thought pattern, or any thought pattern, you can then decide to turn it off and not react to it. You can choose to think of something different or happy or nothing at all.
Meditation helps clear the mind and thoughts. It helps you to not only get balanced, forgive and heal, but helps you to become conscious of your everyday thoughts. You can become aware of thoughts that are not beneficial. We have countless thoughts everyday. We are planning in the future, remembering the past, or agonizing over past events. We tend to get in a low vibration of replaying things that happened to us that make us feel bad, like replaying the event in our minds with possible different outcomes will change what happened or make us feel better. Really, we only feel worse.
Women have a tendency to play out fights in their minds before they have even began. Think about how those thoughts make you feel. You get all mad and upset and you become emotional and nothing has even happened yet. Then when you do talk to the person you are so mad and they have no clue as to why. Meditation helps you slow these types of thoughts and allows you to see when they start or are happening so you can choose to stop the thought and not get upset. When you are conscious of your thought you can always choose higher thoughts. All confusion disappears if you do your meditation and prayer and you can make better more conscious decisions.
The best place to be mentally is in the present. There are times to set goals and plan for the future but if you aren't living a life that makes you happy now, then you aren't really living. We never really reach "the future" because we can only live now. If you are planning things that will make you happy in the future then you miss out on the things that can make you happy now. Happiness isn't some far off future event or outcome, it's now. It's the things you do in every moment that you are conscious and aware of mentally that truly make up a happy life. Why wait for the future to be happy when we are showered with gifts and blessings all around?
Heal your mind. Choose your thoughts. Live in every moment. Taking a few deep breathes, thinking only about those breathes and focusing on them instead of your thoughts or things going on around you; this will help you get calm and centered. Breathing consciously can help you get focused, relaxed and help you put things into perspective. Stressing over things you can't control doesn't help the situation, but staying calm and positive does. Even thinking about things you can actively do anything about in that given moment is a waste of mental power, power you could be using in prayer or right action. Give conscious breathing a try when you start to worry or get overwhelmed or when you start the negative self talk.
Stop talking badly to yourself. God loves you, you love you, so tell that negative voice to be silent. Don't argue with it or reason with it, you be in control of your thoughts and stop the mental chatter. Turn it off, let it know you don't need its opinion anymore that you've got this, you know how to be safe and happy now, without its input. If you've ever had a mental debate then that's the voice I'm talking about. You may think it's ok or not negative self talk, but really, it's holding you back. You know your truth deep down, there's no reason to debate anything. When you find that piece of God in you and you do the work to get in touch with it, you need no permission, you don't need to make any apologies for that peice of you, you know. It's your intuition loud and clear and it's the final say.
Healing the Mind and being mentally clear is so freeing. Having control of your thoughts and keeping everything in your mind and thoughts in check is so freeing. It's peaceful silence and harmony. Having no thought, as achieved through practiced conscious breathing and meditation, is an awesome feeling. Space, freedom, openness and the ability to feel pure love and pure joy and complete contentment in your soul radiating out with no thought. It's all feeling, unanalyzed by the brain with thought. It's feeling uninterrupted, experienced without words. It doesn't happen in every meditation but the love and gratitude felt when it does happen stays with you.
Please ask any questions you may have and leave comments of your own experiences with mental healing. Love and Blessings!
