Saturday Thrift Find

Yesterday was a thrifting day for me! I found this beautiful table at a steal of only $20!! I've been wanting a new night stand and knew this would be perfect from the moment I saw it. After collecting my awesome find I went to the hardware store to get my paint. I then sanded the table using my palm sander (thanks dad!) and tried to get most of the scratches and what was left of the protective finish off the table top; I then lightly sanded the table legs and was ready for primer and paint. I used Rust-Oleum's Paint & Primer, obviously in white, and it took about two coats, I painted in the grass after much complaint from my husband about painting on the driveway (tee-hee). I followed it up with Valspar Lacquer Spray in white. I love the smooth shiny finish this gave the table. On the table top I heavily sprayed the lacquer, I'm sure this is far from recommended but it did completely fill in the few bumps and scratches I couldn't sand out. It takes much longer to dry/cure but I love the outcome, completely smooth and perfectly shiny! Now to find the perfect table lamp....
