Once you have the vision, and even if you don't yet, Prayer is the second step. Prayer can be done in meditation and it can be done outside of meditation. Meditating on a prayer is then allowing the answer to the prayer to come in. But we can pray all the time. At night when you're counting your blessings (I recommend three or more different blessings daily) or during the day, anytime. While driving, while at work, it doesn't matter, Spirit is inside you and is always listening. You are always connected and your silent prayers are heard. Prayer isn't just asking for something to be given to you, but a request to become more yourself and what and who you are meant to be.
Your daily thoughts and actions are also silent prayers. If your thoughts are not inline with your vision then you need to work more on controlling your thoughts and actions. We are to be our true selves and show our true natures. Observing yourself everyday helps you correct your actions and thoughts. Are you changing how you speak or what you speak about around certain people? Do you have negative thoughts about any given type of person that may need to be healed and forgiven. Everyone has temporary moments when they forget to be who they are and try to be or show themselves as something other than their true selves.
An example of this may be talking about a situation that really serves no purpose other than to draw attention to yourself. Trying to gain sympathy or trying to seem important, both of these are not being true to yourself. Every person is important and special to God so the only attention and approval you need is your own. You know when you do something you feel good about and you know when you say or do or think something that leaves you feeling depleted or less than your true self. So look at your daily thoughts and actions, this is an all the time thing. All these things are prayers so keeping positive thought and engaging in positive conversation and actions keep you in a good prayerful state.
Prayer is a sacred time and can still be sacred even in its quick and silent form. Calling on God for anything is a powerful thing to do. No prayer is too simple or not worth praying. Spirit wants to be active and engaged in everything you do and you do that through prayer and staying in a prayerful state. Please remember there is a difference between being religious and being spiritual and connected. Prayer does not have to be flashy and no one can dictate what you should pray, this is done from the heart. What's on your heart is your prayer. Your prayer may be for peace, healing, prosperity, love, forgiveness or help. But don't forget prayers for change, inner and outer, to be of service, to be guided and for others.
When you continuously pray for your vision and ask for its unfolding in your life, you help bring it closer to you. You also activate your soul to prepare for the change that He will bring. Prayer helps you prepare mentally and spiritually for life to shift and for you to be put on your highest path. It can open doors and clear the way. When you pray for someone you are given a chance to have that experience in your life. Think of when you ask for patience and then your patience gets tested, you are learning patience and you are given patience as a result. So if you apply that logic to the things you pray about see if they have already shown up in your life but maybe in a way different from what you were expecting. God will provide what you need if you know that to be a truth, pray on it, then allow it.
Miracles can happen when prayer is done. It can be something so small you almost done notice it or it can be something so amazing you almost can't comprehend it. God can do anything and remember we talked about not limiting God by limiting your beliefs. Don't limit your prayer either, God has to know what it is you want. If you don't know what it is you want then do some more inner work until you figure it out or continue to pray for your vision. Here's a hint, if it's not in some way beneficial to people, it probably won't happen, but it may. You have to pray from a place of gratitude and surrender. You have to be willing to give it to God and let it go so that He can make it happen for you. If you don't let it go and continue to hold onto or try plan or have control then you are not open and allowing God to help you. You have to get out of your own way. Know your prayer is heard and answered and let it go.
I've had some amazing things happen from prayer. I've had situations resolve themselves. I've had a long overwhelming to do list accomplished in less time than I had available. I've had people react differently than I knew they would or than their typical behavior would have them do. I've larger miracles happen such as the perfect job at the perfect time fall into my lap, the perfect house come up on the map and total peace and healing from cancer. It's an amazing thing to be sitting in a waiting room for my turn for chemo and to not care about what the people around me may think, to close my eyes and pray for peace and calm and to have that instant wash over me. All traces of fear and worry and resistance gone, I was able to confidently walk into my chemo treatment knowing I wasn't alone and I could do it. Prayer opens your heart and God will make Himself known.
