Before & After

This week I made a jewelry hanger out of a simple picture frame a friend gave me. First I primed and painted the frame yellow using acrylic paint and gloss. Next I cut a peice of fabric to size after ironing out the wrinkles. I then cut a peice of cork board to fit in the frame and pushed the cork board into place around the fabric. The cork board alone is not thick enough so I cut a peice of foam board to size to fit in behind the cork board. I stapled these into place and screwed use eye hooks into the front for hanging necklaces. I then covered the back with packing wrap so the backing would not be visiable and stapled this into place. And finally I added a picture hanger to the back to be able to on the wall. Simple storage to keep jewelry organized and tangle free. The cork board allows for pushing stud earrings into the board to store as well. More hooks could be attached lower on the board to hang bracelets or hook earrings and the mix and match combination of frame color and fabric patterns is endless! If you're looking for a custom order let me know. This frame will be available this week at the store.
